We are pleased to announce that Mr. Herman HU Shao-ming, BBS, JP, Chairman of RDL Group, has been elected as deputy to the 12th National People's Congress of the People’s Republic of China for a term of 5 years from March 2013 to March 2018.

Mr Hu Fa-kuang, GBS, CBE, JP, the founder and Honorary Chairman of Ryoden Development Limited, received an Honorary Doctor of Social Science from the City University of Hong Kong (CityU) in recognition of his valuable contribution to the Hong Kong society and the promotion and development of sports. Mr Hu has dedicated his life to public services since the 1970s. He has taken up significant roles in many government and public organizations, as a member of the Chinese People’s Political Consultative Conference, a Hong Kong Affairs Advisor, a Legislative Councilor, the first Chairman of the Land Development Corporation, Chairman of the Consultative Committee of the New Airport, Chairman of the Hong Kong Employers’ Federation, and President of the HK–Shanghai Economic Development Association Limited, Vice President of Sports Federation & Olympic Committee of Hong Kong, President and Honorary President of many National Sports Associations. In appreciation of Mr Hu’s significant contributions to sports development and his support for the CityU, the University named its sports centre as the Hu Fa Kuang Sports Centre in 2010.
Mr. Herman HU Shao-ming, BBS, JP, Chairman of RDL Group, was appointed as Chairman of the Council of the City University of Hong Kong (City University) for a term of more than two years from 1 October 2012 to 31 December 2014. Mr. HU served on the Council for more than seven years from 2004 to 2011 and held the position of Chairman of Human Resources Committee from 2007 to 2011.

In support of the ORBIS Mid-Autumn Charity Sale 2012, Parkland has purchased more than 600 mooncakes as festival gifts to reward our frontline staff from Orbis to help the blind people worldwide. A cheque presentation ceremony was held at the Head Office of Orbis. At the ceremony, Dr. Tony Leung, Executive Director of Parkland presented the cheque of donation to Ms. Mary Lau, Director of Development, Hong Kong.
